If a hospital is affiliated with a greenbook sponsor....(for example ..if you go on the acgme.org site and look up Surgery rotations in IL...hit 'view details' next to McGraw Medical Center.." and then see Mt. Sinai listed there) ..would Mt. Sinai be considered fully greenbook ??
I would appreciate info on this if anyone is certain ..thanks so much in advance!!

So the hospitals in chicago that have affiliations are actually legit hospitals that give you greenbook.. rotations! do they also give you that greenbook experience that you would be getting at other hospitals or no?...cuz im debating on whether i should go to michigan or chicago....or not

Yes...but if you do have time do some of your rotations in MI as well. You want to get good letters of rec...so spread it around a bit.

The rotation is considered green (affiliated) if that hospital where you are doing rotations is affiliated with a hospital (Green) that has a residency program in that specialty.
Ok... these terms do not exist: Subgreenbook and Greenbook umbrella. Please do not use them. There is a term (Blue book Umbrella) which means all rotations at a hospital that has a residency program in FM are considered Bluebook.

oh wow
i know of at least 3 people that started various clinicals in chicago that are in hospitals under st marys fm umbrella. they claim that the clinicals are green but st marys is only listed as fm on acgme website. and the hospitals they said are not even listed on acgme.

Well then they're certainly greenbook for FM but not for anything else, I hope your friends are aware that ONLY the FM rotation there is green. Some people don't care what kind of clinicals they're doing since they plan on practicing in a state that doesn't scrutinize what kind of rotations you do.
This "subgreenbook" term gave me a laugh, that's a new one to me.
I've always preferred the two terms: Greenbook and No book

They are doing blue book....and most likely they have not passed the boards.
