Hey,

I was just wondering a little bit about how the classes are taught;

1. Are all lecture classes in a classroom with a project of the professors power points? If so, are the power points provided to the class at all? ... before in a e-mail system or as hard copy before class?

2. Do the professors typically allow laptops/tablets for note taking? Is this recommend at all?

Thanks

No one has anything to say?

The only reason why I am asking this, is because I am wondering if it would be beneficial to buy a new laptop that i can bring to class...

Yes, all classes are on powerpoint which are provided for download before the class. You need to learn to take notes on powerpoint.

people dont travel across town without a laptop, and you are contemplating going to school without one?!

infact, you should buy a new laptop and keep your old one as a backup.

You need to relax some.. that goes to some other people as well who are really though behind the screen and incredibly quick to judge. I never said I was going to come to med school without a laptop or computer... read the post before you answer it....

I was debating whether i should buy a tablet (a notebook/laptop w many cool features and very PORTABLE) in case i am going to bring it to class every day. Or, if i should keep my big old 15in laptop that is 7lb, still great but maybe not for the classroom... And how inconsiderate of you to just assume that everyone is so fortunate that they can just buy 2 laptops.. you know, believe it or not, people got, and still get through med school by reading books.

To Whom ever, actually answered, or tried to answer, disregard what I said in this message. Your information really helped. Since, now i know that i can bring a laptop and take notes directly on the powerpoint slides that i have downloaded before class. Which is exactly what I needed to know before I went a ahead and bought a new tablet.

The fact that you thought I was coming unprepared somewhat disrespectful.
Infact, I was more prepared then you assumed.

Thanks
