I'm finalizing my schedule, and have to choose between: Genetics and BioChemistry. Which should I choose? Thanks.

Don't I need to know Genetics as well?

yes, you need to know genetics as well. but i'm just saying just to get a head starts to it. as least you'll know the pathways and enzymes, etc.

Definitely biochemistry. Biochem is like an unwritten requirement for med school admission. In fact, some US schools will let you replace one semester of orgo with biochem...and I found biochem to be many times easier than orgo.

If you have time to take genetics, I do recommend it. Get biochem done first.

Biochem definitely was more GPA friendly than orgII. I am told that genetics is a great deal easier than biochem, but not as valuable as knowing pathways, enzymes, regulatory pts.

depends on what school though.

Yeah...genetics at Cornell was awful (median grade was a D) while the genetics course I took at Tulane was many times easier.
