hey everone, can you tell me when is a good idea to apply for entry for this summer at lublin? I have all my requirements done and everything but it will take time to get in all the application materials.
Also, I know that they give us all rotations in the USA, so do we just do the 2 years of basic sciences in lublin then take usmle step 1 in america and then finish our rotations in the USA?
Ive heard the class size is 30-40 so does that mean that only 40 people will be admitted for this summer?
thanks

oh and also, what is their grading policy, is it letter grades or pass/fail?
Does the entirety of the class pass and make it through? In carribean med schools a great number of students get failed out easily, how is it in lublin?
thanks again

Apply as soon as you can. At least get the actual application mailed in so they know you are interested. You can mail the other stuff in later, they'll start a file for you. However, they will not consider your application until it is fully complete.

This is true for the 4 year program. 2 years in Poland, USMLE Step 1, then 2 years of rotation in the States.

Yes, that's how many they admit for the 4 and 6 year program each cycle. So, that means 60-80 new students come in every cycle. (Usually closer to 30 students in each class). For the 4 year program, the class merges with 3/6 for all the lectures, the labs & discussions are separate.

Some classes are pass/fail, most of them are graded on a scale from 2-5; 2= fail. The bare minimum for passing an exam is ~ 60=70% which equals a grade of 3.

From my experience, most of the class is able to make it through all the way. They give plenty of chances for retakes of exams (you can only score a maximum of 3 on a retake, no matter how well you do on it). The last attempt for a retake is an oral exam with the department head and/or Dean. There were a few who had to retake an entire course because they were not able to pass the retakes.
I don't know what their policy is now though, so take it with a grain of salt. Or maybe someone else can chime in. I think they have a new policy now stating that you have to pass a subject-based NBME exam along with the final in order to pass the class.
