As I started step 3 prep i found that step 3 like a girl friend
1,Too Many Questions.
2,Difficult to Understand.
3,More Explanation is Needed.
4,Result is usually FAIL!
5,takes your sleep and rest away
6, Always demanding " Buy me this Q bank Get me that material".

In one way this is good time that some new things are available in market that are making life easy.

The recommendations are: according to priority..

a. USMLE Master the boards step 3 by C. Fischer (as name tells, its master iece for step 3 and published in feb 2009)
b. Kaplan step 3 books (new edition has all the information of Ck + CCS, so no need to revise CK notes)
c. UW MCQ and CCS
d. Premier review notes (with or without audio)/ Some says Dr Reds (Archers Notes)
e. Kaplan step 3 video
f. Kaplan Q bank and or Kaplan Q book
g. First aid/Crush
h. Family practice examination and board review by Jason
i. Swanson (only sports medicine, geriatrics etc)

Must to do: A to C

Now, from where to start:
Start with Master the baords and UW MCQs if u r fresh with ur CK exam. and if u taken it for more than a year than Step 3 kaplan notes.

For CCS (very important component of exam)
UW 88 cases (They are making their cases interactive, which gives real time practice)
****** CD (newer version include 100 cases)
some people recommend USMLE step 123 CCS / Dr reds workshop .....

How long it take to prepare:
it also depends on ur personal situation
for 2 week to 12 months...depending on your ambition, capacity etc.

I hope you can start with these basic info...more info will coome gradually...
