Significant ECs for Medical Schools

What are the significant ECs to get into the top medical schools ?

I know GPA and MCAT are the essentials but what are about the ECs ?

What do med schools really look for ?

In short, they want you to know what the heck you're getting into. So, getting experience where you're working closely along doctors and/or nurses and/or pharmacists and being exposed to patients at the same time helps.

Volunteer work, clinical exposure and research. Leadership (demonstrated through on campus organizations) is also a plus.
