Hi there... I study in Cebu, Philippines. There are no Sri Lankans in my program (MHAM, Southwestern University), but we have a few indian and pakistani students currently completing their pre-medical courses to enroll in next year and the year after. I believe Gullas, University of the Visayas in Cebu also has some Indian representation among its foreign students.
I would encourage you to include Cebu in your Philippine medical school consideration because:
1) foreign fees are lower for foreigners in Cebu than in Manila
2) its a better place to study. Easy to get around, lots of 24-hour coffee shops and study spots.
3) In my opinion Cebuanos on average communicate better in English than people on Manila.
4) Although dishonesty towards foreigners exists, its less so in Cebu than in Manila. In Manila nearly every taxi driver will try to overcharge you if you are not Filipino. In Cebu most people will treat you well, with exceptions of course.
5) Cebu is a much less expensive place to live.
Good luck in your decision!
P.S. Yes, I am satisfied, moderately. I wish I had a way to study in the US, my home country. If I had that opportunity, I would much rather take it than stay here. But among foreign choices, I feel I made the best one. Im contented with my school and the education that I am receiving. I intend to prove it on my step 1 USMLEs.

Hi,
I would suggest medical schools in manila such as Manila Central University or Emilio Aguinaldo College. They are both in Manila where Sri Lankan Embassy is also located. You need to take up NMAT or National Medical Admission Test before you can be admitted in any medical school in the Philippines. Beware of Far Eastern University unless you want challenges as you study medicine coz its a very tough medical school. Most of schools here are friendly to foreigners so don't worry about it. You can also try University of Perpetual Help Laguna for more suitable learning environment. And focus on your studies. I strongly suggest Manila Central University, Emilio Aguinaldo College and University of Perpetual Help Laguna. University of Perpetual Help Laguna is located outside Manila and has a lower tuition fee as well. You will stay inside the campus so discipline will be strict. Emilio Aguinaldo College is just in front of the World Health Office in Manila and professors mostly from University of the Philippines, the best medical school in the Philippines but do not accept foreign students as mandated by philippine laws.Manila Central University is the third oldest medical school in the Philippines and has produced a lot of doctors and has solid experience in medical education since world war 2. Supposing you will encounter problems, Sri Lankan embassy is just near your school,if you study in Manila, to assist you. I wish you good luck.

The OP just finished the equivalent of a high school diploma in the Philippines (they have a British style of education compared to the American system in the Phil.). Philippine med schools are strict in that you will need to finish a Bachelors degree. I read there are some accelerated Bachelor's program in Angeles (AUF) or St. Louis in Baguio but he has to inquire which one will give him the Bachelor's degree faster.
