I've noticed there isn't much activity on this thread anyway. Maybe everyone is busy studying.

we had a guy come from TSOM . . . he did a great job on selling the school to students. Any feedback from current students would be great.

Yep. I wonder how many current students are their? Does the school have any mailings to mail interested students?
I think the school is brand new - may not have any students yet....

TSOM rep told us that there were 5-7 students the first semester.

I am not a current student, but I had requested information a while back via email. Compared to many other schools I contacted, TSOM was VERY quick to respond and always professional.

Anyone going down in August?

the school is new so they are working hard to get established.
they have a shortage of faculty so they pile work sometimes depending on when the visiting faculty are available. usually, you won't know about your classes till the weekend before the upcoming 1-2 week because they need to make sure faculty is available. There are some staff members you can talk to, and there are those you can't. If you get on their bad side, they won't help you.
It seems like we're never really informed as to what goes on when the school makes/change policies (i.e. grading). the deans don't give you straight answers if you do ask. they don't like to be asked questions. you can tell based on the way they try to answer ur questions.
Be skeptical with the way the school markets itself. Don't buy everything said. As anyone would say, do some research. look at the web site too.
the school is moving to a bigger campus on the island with a lot of facilities so that is a plus. the teaching pace is decent compared to some caribbean schools. u will learn. it's a matter of making sure u try.
other than that, keep in mind that this isn't canada or the US so you're in it for some adjustment. people are friendly on the island. you can get around by a local bus. there are a lot of places to buy food. the food here is pretty good.
also, the loan is credit-based.

oh i wanted to add. what they don't tell you at the info seminars is that they're still trying to figure out the best way to teach in the classroom. so they're experimenting and they don't care if you're grades get screwed over. so if u think u can do well from this "individual attention" bull, think again! you know that saying "no man above the law?" yeah, that totally applies here. u'll never be able to figure out how u got ur grade and if their experimenting screws it over, they're not changing it!

No. You can probably join the facebook group and send a personal to the students to get feedback

one of the most disorganized grad schools i have ever encountered in my life that lies to you every step of the way. biggest scam at their information sessions. earl mainer will tell you everything YOU want to hear. go do a post-bac or get your master's and stay in north america. as soon as i take my USMLEs, i'm changing my school affiliation. students here have more negative than positive things to say. the faculty has no idea

yeah, i agree. they have no clinicals and it has been 1 year. oh and welcome to Trinity, the world's first med school that believes in self-taught medicine. so who needs a teacher when you can learn on your own! welcome to trinity where you learn two different physio topics in 1 week! 1 year's course in just days! where the dean of students doesn't even like students! not to mention he barely shows up to class! and then he tells you that missing class is what doctors do! two thumbs up! where state of the art anatomy lab is a bunch of posters with 2 dead bodies being used for ages! we can't even dissect them! did i see 3-D anatomy lab on the web site? oh i think they meant a CD anatomy lab. oh don't worry, there's plenty of places to study in the "library" that has no books. there's more stray dogs than books available! earl mainer? great job being a marketer. let me give u an oscar! where is this harvard education you talk about at ur seminars! does harvard know u compared trinity to them? wonder what would happen if harvard found out!
gooooo trinity!

i too agree with those posts. the statements about the student dean are pretty factual. he tends to tell your grades and things about your personal life to your peers, which sucks. never ever tell him anything. also, he teaches anatomy and could care less about teaching. i think he hates his job. half the time, he doesn't even show up and when he does, he reads off the powerpoint. i'm wondering how he even know how he became dean of students. the school has classes they do not even list on their web site and catalogue. talking to upper classmen, i compared what they were taking to what is listed on the website/catalogue and all the classes don't match. the school adds courses and i didn't even know that. i wish their info seminars had honesty. i do feel like they were trying to sell the school and succeeded. there is no order here. students have left because of their own frustrations, not grades (as they lie and tell you). you know why people fail here? cause a lot of their teachers come to teach you 1 semester's course in days. we just lost one more student cause he was fed up and was pushed out because he asked legitimate questions such as "professor (student dean), why don't you come to class" so how can they even be near Canadian/US school standards? We have more order in our school system, thank you very much. and in north america, untruthful advertisement will get you into a lawsuit. im probably going to take my MCATs again and go somewhere else.

This is in response to the recent comments about Trinity. I am not responding to the previous statements to create or amplify any drama. As a current student with the goal of becoming a physician in the United States, I can honestly say that TSOM has held true to its standard of guidance and preparation in helping determined students reach their goals. After talking with several friends from various med programs in the Caribbean, I feel that Trinity’s program has just as much to offer, if not more, than existing programs. Although this program is relatively new, the staff is composed of professors and deans that have made other Caribbean programs the success that they are today. To those of you with future ambitions of attending medical school, I urge you not to make judgments based on disgruntled students. Remember that this is a forum where people can just say anything; we all have good and bad days. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to respond to or become entangled with any further negative comments. After all, I do have exams coming up. Good luck to you all.
There are 2 new videos of our students on the TSOM website. You guys look great! ;)
