Hi,
Would studying medicine in the Czech language make me less competitive in gaining a residency spot in Canada or the USA, than if I studied in English? Or are both programs treated as equal?
Does anyone know anyone who got a residency placement and studied in Czech?
Thanks!

I'm sure there are tons but the university doesn't really keep a record of any of them. Regarding doctors who've graduated from the English parallel, there is one I heard of (who did really well in med school) and is a practicing Obs/Gyn. His name is Dr. Neil and he's on this forum. So you might want to send him a PM. There is another American that I know of who's in the 6th year and will be graduating in a few months (his name is Dan Kameny and I think he's also on this forum).

i studied in english, had no trouble getting a spot. every person that i was in school with that applied obtained a position. one did IM in texas, and is now working there, another did IM in NC, and is now doing a fellowship. my ex-roomie wanted anesthesia, but got IM in NJ. i am doing Ob/gyn in VA. another is doing generar surg in PA.
if you finish and do well on your boards, you should have little trouble getting a spot from either program.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Dr Neil been banned? :-S

Was just wondering if any Charles grads (preferably of 1st faculty) were known to be practicing in California?

Yes it is sort of hard because there is a lot of paperwork and time involved and tons of criteria to be met. This is what makes it better.
