OMG that is very bad bad for all for students who want to come back to USA. As a former student and someone who going through match right now. I am telling you these are things that PD looking at during my interviews:
1. USMLE scores (higher better)
2. US Clerkship (where and how long)
3. LORs (go hand in hand w US clerkship)
4. US citizen or not.

Why did FU lose it affiliations anyway?

Hi, Maybe Caribbean Schools bought all the spots up...these are usually done through contracts...My school loses them all the time...Not sure though if Fatima has a contract with Jackson, New York or Maryland

btw, regarding your other post, all for-profit medical schools are well for profit...its a business. I'm going to one right now that was recently bought up by a huge for-profit capitalistic institution based in the states a few years back and it is not any better...let's start with the 12,000 US per Semester fee that was badly taught...So if you want to talk about money, this was more of a rip-off...and 15,000 US rotation fee, rotations that you're not guaranteed a spot for. All of these schools are the same regardless of where you go...Anyway is this confirmed, Are they going to try to sign a new contract for June (if they do have one) !

What about the new thing where FU students have to pass their step 1 before they can start US clerkship? Although, this is a great idea on surface. In reality, it is sure going to prevent FU's student from sign up for US rotations. This is because with all the remedial classes that everyone seems to get at FU, you wont have time to study for step! Unless they give at least 3 mons off to study for their students, everyone is screwed! Let put it this way only one guy took his step before clerkship, and he has to take one sem off. So this is typical of Dr. E and DAS, where they came up with an idea from their backside which consult with their students, without looking at the cirrculum as awhole, without consult with their US hospital affiliations. You are at these A**** mercy literally. That is how i see during my time. And at least, Mrs Santos was the voice of reason, but now she is gone. I wish all u guys a lot lot of luck. Hey dude- where did you get your info? I confimed it today with the admin that Fatima still have affiliation with Jackson Park. Jackson just added one requirement - step 1 that's about it. In fact I'v seen the letter from Jackson extending consideration to 4th year students who don't have step 1. The step 1 requirement has been waived for them this year. So FatimaFamily where did you get your info? Would you like to be mislead by other people too? Once again let me ask you- WHERE DID YOU GET THE INFORMATION? To all readers please be careful with impostors in this forum!

Oh yes- step 1 is now a requirement for Jackosn and Harbor (its has been)..new york- step 1 not needed (not a choice for californian's bec it is a DO non-greenbook program)..Anyway, good thing about the special class is they cater to our need I have no doubt they will give us all the required time to prep for the step 1..some upper lclassmen took 3-6 months off.

Well i hope so man! When i was there Mrs. Santos still around to keep her crazy kids in check Don and Dr. E, but now she is gone. Dr. E and DAS run the whole show, what they say go! Man that is very very dangerous game! Especially with your match, you need all your documents ASAP, if they even delay one or two weeks and u miss the deadline. There go one year of your life you will never get back! In fact one of my friend is having problem with his MSPE-they wont give him-even though he passed all his step 1/2/CSA. So he might miss his match cuz of it crazy rite. I hope wont happen to you Bro!

Mrs. Santos is not Dying! She passed away already in fact last year. I was very sad about it. She was the best of all the whole bunch. At very least, she listened to u and tried to help. Not like King Don and Empress Enriquez. I would have great fear for all those there now, because without Mrs. S voice to protect the students from the rest. Sactoboy be careful!
