Hi everyone Im a student in High School and its my last year I live in NJ. Im interested in AUA, I would like to know what do you need to get in. Like how much GPA is required, do they also accept SATs, what courses would I need to get directly into MD programme? Is this unversity good or just average? What do I need to know for my interview if I get called? And how many years will it take for me to complete the whole programme, how many semesters do I ahve to take if I derectly get into MD or if I first have to do my pre-med? And when do the new semesters begin for new students? And how many students does each class have?
THANK YOU!!!!!!

You can't just go into the basic science program out of high school. If you do premed at AUA, it's 16 months of premed (4 semesters of 4 months a piece). And then basic science..which is also 16 months. Then after completing basic science, you complete a 5th semester in the US, and immediately after you will take Step 1. If you pass step 1, you're on to clinicals (approx 2 years), step2, residency, etc etc. BUT..why would you want to go to AUA right out of high school? You should go to a 4 year college in the US..study hard..and get into a US med school. You'll have access to federal loans, and have no problems getting licensed in all 50 states. AUA (and any carib schools) should only be used as a 2nd choice. If after college, you dont get into a US school..then look at coming to AUA. The problem is that ALOT of students flunk out of premed/med here. And it's considerably more $$$ than your standard community college..which is the type of "degree" you get upon completion of premed at AUA. Not to mention antigua is a third world country with the rudest people in the caribbean.
