Both UPS and FedEx serve Aruba.

You can see the UPS office from the school, but there's no sign. If you look straight across the big parking lot across the street from the school, you'll see a row of buildings. The UPS office is in a brown building about halfway down the street. The entrance is from a small parking lot between two buildings; there is no entrance from the street.

If you have things shipped to you by UPS, be sure that the shipper includes a copy of the original invoice from the manufacturer of whatever you ordered. Otherwise, Customs will sit on it for weeks trying to figure out how much it's worth. UPS employees advised me that Aruba is the only country in the world which does not honor the Customs delcaration filled out by the mailer and attached to the box; they want to see the original invoice from the manufacturer of whatever is in the box. This is part of the price you pay for being on an island run by descendants of Aztec slaves.

FedEx has two offices, both at the airport. One office is for shipping, the other is for receiving. If you receive FedEx (or UPS) packages, they will come right to the school. To ship by FedEx, the office is in an office complex on the side of the road away from the airport, i.e., if you drive to the airport from school, make a left instead of a right at the only road that intersects the airport.

You should use the school address as your mailing address. It is very reliable; everything delivered to your apartment may be stolen.

Never mail a package using the Aruban postal service. All packages are stolen.

Hey Fossil Doc,

Well.. thanks for that advice. Certainly very valuable and I will definitely take that into consideration while shipping any thing!
