Cali Visit

Does anyone know if the Cali visit took place for Trinity? If not is their a date?

Also, how is the antomy lab here? Cadavers?

As of now the Anatomy Lab has not been finished but it will be complete in the next week or two, so the next semester students will have a fresh lab!
Given the above, the inaugural class has not dissected any cadavers but has been able to participate in an autopsy. Your next question will be how we learned anatomy, well there are some US schools that do not use cadavers and utilize models and computer programs. Well, we have done it that way here but will be switching to the traditional method next semester. Our anatomy teacher is awesome and has done taken this challenge and in my opinion did an excellent job! Next semester things are going to be different with some additions to the faculty and more emphasis on dissection.
As for your question about California, I will email administration and have one of them answer that question.

MCAT Score 26, Undergrad GPA 3.98, Science Undergrad 3.65. My undergrad was a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. I was a registered nurse who had been practicing for 11 years prior to matriculation. I have assisted in numerous surgical procedures, assumed responsibility for several operating rooms, published posters, papers and even 3 surgical movies for the American College of Surgeons. I chose Trinity because of the one-to-one time with the professors. Being a nurse, my thinking towards medicine was slightly different than my peers so I chose a school that would be able to offer extra help. You cannot get this at a school that has over 300 people. Actually it has proven to be the right choice at this time as my test scores are improving.

You will find out soon enough that going to Trinity (or any other new med school with no proven track) vs SGU/AUC/Ross is the biggest mistake you have made in your life if you actually had a chance to go to the big 3. Problems such as clinical rotations, lack of recognition by PDs, and HUGE limitations on where you can practice will FAR outweigh your one on one "time" experience at Trinity. Can Trinity for sure get clinical rotations when time comes for you to go? will it be a green book rotation, or a blue book? most likely blue book, if they even can get that. Add that to the fact that most states require green book for licensure, and the No cali approval, or pretty much no anything approval, one can see what a big problem attending Trinity can be. Will you eve be able to sit through the USMLE? All these unanswered questions make attending Trinity a complete foolish idea. Add to the fact that you most likely had a chance at SGU/Ross/AUC and you chose Trinity makes it even a stupider idea, and in addition to say that you chose this because you wanted one on one interaction makes this completely retarded. Med school is a lot of self studying, and if you need that much one on one time, maybe med school is not the right field for you. Maybe if you tried your hardest and no other schools accepted you except Trinity, I would have more sympathy for you, but you chose Trinity over other schools just because of this "one on one" stupidity.
Might sound harsh, but welcome to reality.
In addition, just because you are doing well at Trinity does not correlate you into doing well into the USMLE. Their curriculum is not tested, and most likely you are not going to be prepared for the USMLE coming from a start up school. Also, a high GPA from here means next to nothing when you apply for residency, as no PDs will even know how to compare you.
You need to look past the "im going into med school" hiatus, and look farther into your future. Graduating from Trinity is absolutely no guarantee for anything. You will most likely get into debt and can't do anything with that MD. Think hard before attending a start up school with no track record.
