hello!
I've been hearing a lot about a placement test upon entering Pre-med and would really like some more info. When do you take it, what does it involve, and what are the implications of the results? Please let me know. :)
Thanks guys.

no implications, just to get an idea of where students stand. Easy stuff.

If you do well enough on the placement test..and Dr M the dean approves it, then yes..you can opt out of lower classes..you're not going to opt out of classes that are 'required'..FI..you wont be able to opt out of calculus..but you might get outta precal..

Would that include this month? Also, do you have any idea about this placement test?

To address the placement test in full:
It was during the first day of class or "orientation" at the pre med campus. There was some basic chemistry, basic math section, and an English section. We were told that it wouldn't affect out placement in any way. It was to see our skills in the subjects relative to the other institutions we came from and to see where we stood as a whole.
Placement into the pre med program is pretty much based off of what Dr. M, the Pre med dean feels is appropriate for you specifically. Some people will be exempt from certain classes for certain reasons, and other not. There is no one specific rubic he/ anyone in premed uses to determine about specific classes. If a student has completed up to a pre med 4 level for example, but lacks significantly as a whole in regards to having to many bad grades or withdrawls or somthing of that sort, Dr. M may feel it is better to bump the student to pre med 3, or adjust their schedule accordingly by removing a certain class and adding another one.
