I saw the warning on Reuters, anything going on down there for hurricane prep etc.?

LOL, I guess everyone is prepping rather than being online to read this ;)
Since you wrote this it's become Hurricane Omar and it's currently less than 300 miles from Saba and closing in on the Virgin Islands. St Croix is 100 miles due west of us, so the Sabans (who have been doing this for 400 years) say we'll get a LOT of rain and high winds that should hit around midnight and be passed by sunup. Tropical storm force winds for us and Statia, so it'll still be a long night. But a longer night for the folks in the VI, so let's keep them in our thoughts.
The school started closing the shutters last evening and closed today at 10:00. The dean and admin staff have been giving us *excellent* updates, instructions and support. The shelter is at the hospital.
