For those of you that took the exam, I was wondering if you found the exam questions to be similar to UW (harder or easier) or Kaplan (harder or easier)??
I've been getting 60% on UW timed and unused, and about the same if not higher on kaplan? What do you guys think?

It's been a while since I've taken Step 1, but UW was right on compared to Kaplan.
I took the exam almost a week ago.. definitely thought UW was more relevent to the actual exam; actual exam qs being harder. Personally I feel Kaplan qs are wayy off... but thats jus my opinion. gud luck.

Some questions on the exam are easier than UW most are like UW and few harder than UW. The concept what they go over and what they focus on was what was on the exam.
Kraplan on the other hand the questions were to easy, the easy questions on the exam were like Kraplan, the rest you were on your own.
Also I took the test some time ago, do not know if they have change anything.

i took the exam a week back
well , compare to UW , Kaplan ....a definite answer does not exist.
there were some qs in the acutall exam almost similar to kaplan and UW
some Qs were easier.
however the genearl pattern , i suggest that u guys do UW ...cos the Qs are really good..Concept orientied and thats what u need to learn.

I think when IMG Survivor took the exam he was right on about the UW QBank being 'harder' than the 'Kraplan' QBank. As a matter of fact the UW was significantly better than everyone on the market. So much so that Kaplan had to completely re-do their QBank in order to better suite the students. Now I can honestly say that Kaplan's is significantly harder than UW's thus being able to predict you passing more accurately than UW. 'Fresher' and more high yield is better and right now that is what 'kraplan'' is =)

i took the kaplan challenge on their website. if their bank is anything like the questions i faced... yikes!
but i think the value in world is also their explanations that go into grave details and sometimes not even found in my review books. which is a plus.

I have just started using both QBank and UW. I've done about 300 questions from each and I feel that Kaplan is significantly more difficult. My percentage reflects that with 67% on Kaplan and 72% on UW. I hope the USMLE is like UW!

i didnt use kaplan at all. we had to take the kaplan sim before leaving the island and it was a mess. i used usmle world exclusively. the content of usmleworld was tougher than the actual exam. however i felt that some of the questions on the real thing were rather poorly written and less straightforward than usmle world.
for me, it was more about trying to decipher the questions as opposed to digging deep for some lesser known fact, like usmleworld was for me.
hope that helps

So now i'd like to revise my previous post. My Kaplan average has surpassed my World average, 70% to 67%. 80% done on each of them. I'm really digging the World explanations. They give more nitty-gritty details which I know USMLE will test me on. Test is two weeks away!

Help! My test is a month away and im getting a little worried that my UW avg is starting to drop. It was around 66-64 and now its been around 58-56. Should I be terribly worried, or carry on as per my schedule?
