I read a few of the curriculum from universities in czech republic, poland, croatia, romania etc and they all have physics/biophysics modules in the first year.
I am curious what is that like, is it all algebra, equations and lots of math stuff? or kind of like non-calculus stuff?

It's quite science oriented. There is a lot more theory than the mathematical part. However, in the exam, you will be asked to give the formulas and examples for each question along with the theory that goes behind it. The profs. will definitely ask you the mathematical formula for every question and if you know it...then you don't need to go into too much depth with the theory.
I hated biophysics....but eventually I passed it (you just have to learn the technique I guess)...I just hope I'll never take a subject like that.

Biophysics is a lot about how physics come into play in biology. Osmosis, action potential, etc. The largest part, though, is physics in methods and instruments used in biology and medicine. So that's centrifuge, fluorescence, MRI, PET, etc.

Hi there.
I´m especially interested in Hungary. How much physics is part of the curriculum? Is it only first year? Is it only biophysics or is it also normal physics? Is it an important subject (lots of hours on schedule)? Can you make a short list, centrifuge, fluorescence, MRI, PET, etc....what more? Can you recommend any certain way to prepare for this subject? Thanks!

Physics , as far as I remm , is only in the first year. In the first sem , you have a lot of minor subjects, and 2 major ones, biophysics and chemistry. I am talking abt DOTE here. Dont know abt other med schools in Hungary.
At DOTE, there is a blue book , which you have to study. Its defi hard to understand that book in the first place, but high school physics, and wekipedia help a lot. And yeah , the lectures are amust ot attend.
Hope this helps
