I have heard that "250 Biggest Mistakes 3rd Year Medical Students Make and How to Avoid Them" and "How to be a Truly Excellent Junior Medical Student" are good books to read prior to rotations. I haven't, though.

Just be active, stay interested and read a little each day. I dont know how smart the medical students who work with me are but they have/perform the above and therefore get a solid grade in my book and the senior residents.

I am a SMU grad currently @ Wayne State, Anesthesia, CA-1. Get the Scut monkey book, and know how to write SOAP notes, H&P, transfer orders, acceptance notes, and you will be fine.

hey everyone! any information or feedback about the sinai grace IM rotation in Detroit Michigan would be fantastic! do the residents and attendings actually teach or this is a big scut monkey site? I know it all depends on your attitude and how much you want to do..but I was wondering how people like this rotation because I'll be starting IM there in Jan 09'!
I know it's a little early to want information, but I know I don't want wyckoff in NYC based on student reviews, and I'm afraid since I don't have any information on sinai grace that this place might end up having reviews like wyckoff and that would suck seing as I've tried to do a lot of research on clinical sites I want. but whatever the case, I'll the make the best of my IM rotation because IM is one of the specialities I am interested in.
