Did you do any NMBE's before you took the exam?

thanks to contributors on this site.
Hi, I am unhappy to hear that you did not pass the exam especially after your long hours of study. That said, did you try making brief notes from the Kaplan series and going over them to aid memory? I also suggest you do at least 90% if not all of one question bank of your choice-Uworld or kaplan (I am not a representative of either) prior to taking another look at the kaplan series. You may find that some of the questions are discussed with good ideas that make it easier to approach qs. Lastly, take first aid more seriously. I looked through it more than once before my exam. All the best and I hope this helps.

I'm terrible sorry to hear that, is time to go back to the drawing board.
1- Look at your USMLE score report card and look what areas you did worst. Start with your weakest areas/subject lets say physiology and take your weakest system lets say respiratory. And just focus on those two areas like if the exam was only those 2 areas.
2- Try to get First Aid for the USMLE step1, make sure is complete because sometimes they forget to include something, like the 2007 or 2006 one of those does not have lipids.
Also try to see if they have any errors in the book.
Now do not get discourage the book is the BEST book for the exam, and you must memorize it the same way you know your name.
To help you with that here in this website we have a FREE yes FREE question bank of short questions for the First Aid. Try to do at least 50-100 per day in the area you are weak. You will see how much you improve your score.
3-Because you recently took the exam I also will recommend to do at least 100 questions from Tommy per day, you will have a general review will be easy, will lift your spirit and it will make you have the basics concept down cold you will be Dr. Basic of USMLE step1. Its also free in this website.
4- Try to get a hold of GOLJAN and go over his lectures and start with the system you are weakest.
5-After couple of weeks then go to UW, I say UW because in my experience I have notice it has been the best tool with First Aid to prepare you for the exam.
6- Then You by about 5-6 weeks from now you have done the following
- Gone over most of the First Aid question we have here
- Gone over the entire Tommy concepts Questions
- Listen and review the entire Goljan course
- Done a general review of everything
- done at least from 500-1,000 questions from UW.
After you have done all that then You take an NBME exam to see where you really are. take it on line and the guide yourself from the report card.
You do not need another NBME exam now because you have your USMLE grade that you can use FOR GUIDANCE.
May GOD Bless you with the knowledge and perseverance you need to passed this exam.
GOD Bless and take care
