Are MUA students allowed to practice in NY, NJ AFTER completing residency?

MUA has been NY approved for several years--a fact mentioned a thousand times on this forum and on the MUA website. It's my understanding that you cannot do a residency in a state unless you are able to get licensed to practice there as well. If you look at the 2008 match thread above you will see that an MUA student is doing a residency in NJ. But if it really means something to you, wouldn't it be better to ask the medical licensing board directly? The telephone number for New Jersey's is: 609-826-7100.

I can still never understand why people come to this opinion forum to ask questions of offcial fact instead of going to the official source. If one is gullible enough to believe what is said here without verification then she/he is in trouble. If someone is too lazy to look up the official souces for checking facts, she/he is in trouble. If someone lacks the skills to do the research to find the official sources of fact, then she/he is in trouble. Can you imagine someone coming to a medical school because someone told them on this forum they could practice in a state without getting some official verification? And if you can get the official verification, why ask the question?

The answer is yes. The best way to verify the output of MUA is to take a look at the alumni page on mua.edu. In general, this is one of the best ways to evaluate Caribbean medical schools-- can the school get you where you want to go.

Have a good break.
