Id like to say thanks to all of the people here who are always so helpfull and responsive to questions people ask... I was wondering though, how important (how well does it look on your app) is undergrad research to a med school application.. Im not speaking only about caribbean schools, but allopathic and DO schools in the US too.. During the school year I am usually involved doing volunteer work as a nurse aid in comm. health clinic by my school and I do enjoy the work, and wouldnt have enough free time to be involved in research and the volunteer business... So im trying to choose, one or the other and was wondering which could could be more important in the application process. thanks

Right now what I am hearing is doing MD shadowing vs research is better (unless you are applying to top research type medical schools) See US news and World report to find them. Then you need both with good quality!
