Just curious what ya'll think about printers on the island. Should i bring one with me or survive without one?

im not sure but based on what ive read on previous posts, you need it if you cant study using your laptop screen so you would have to do lots of printing in your dorm. but for other printing jobs, library is available. im an incoming student too so wait for more replies on this.

10 cents/single sided page cost at the library. Average lecture is anywhere from 60-120 slides depending on which semester you are in. 5 lectures/week 13-14 weeks for a course. Usually 3 courses per semester. If you are gonna print out every slide cuz you cannot study from laptop screen then get one, it will be cheaper. Do the math!!!

it depends really. If you like to read from paper, then its good to have one. Most of the classes are powerpoints and their are lots of slides per powerpoints so it could be costly at the end but whatever your preference is. Most people just use powerpoint and add notes to the bottom and study off the computer.

with power point though you can also print 6 slides per page and have room left over for notes... thats what i usually do. (undergrad, not in saba yet ) saves paper and i find it easier to scribble quick notes and thumb through a few pages faster them dragging around my comp. if u bring a printer though bring extra ink!! much cheaper home then there

its good to have a printer handy, not just for notes but really, you dont want to be bothering people for printing or avoiding the hassle of going to the library when on those times when you need to print out something. even if you dont think you will use it, bring it just in case and save yourself a headache.

or you could buy mine. I am selling a really nice brother 5240 laser printer. it cost me 225 dollars and then a LOT more to get it down here. It can print i think around 30 pages per minute. IT has a brand new drum which would suffice for your entire time on saba. both Pc and mac compatible. PM if interested.... guarantee your not going to find a better printer on the island, and you def dont want to deal with getting a printer down here. 100$ takes it.
