Hi may I ask u who did you contact at semmelweis concerning a transfer?was it the plain admissons dep. or did you arrange this through Pecs?

oh 1 more thing, did you need a reason for wanting a transfer, did this affect the outcome?
or is it just ok to say want to change per se because of not liking the enviroment of the current school you're at

i just transfered to semmelweis from debrecen. Budapest is lively and very beautiful, surely beats debrecen in that aspect. one of the reasons i transfered. oh yes, expect renting in budapest to be more expensive than pecs. ie. approx. 75K HUF for a one bedroom. i think it'll be best to live in district 9 between ferenc krt and nagyvarad ter. you'll be central to where your classes are held.
the other reason was its reputation in the states. but, until classes start i can not comment on the quality of education and its professors. one thing though, is that the departments are spread out throughout the city. but, i dont think this is too much of a problem in the first 3 yrs because the departments are still walking distance. having a bike will be a plus though. the clinics/hospitals where you will have to do your rotations will be more spread out though but still managable.

so, from the city perspective, its everything i expected.

good luck.
