Hey guys, this may be a dumb question. but do we have a student number?

For ppl who applied to OSAP, what did you fill in? or just leave it blank? Thanks

You get a random student ID number...you can find it when you log into "My SGU"

I actually have two ID numbers from SGU.

One is the RandomID Athena mentioned. This is used for scantrons and such.

The other was one I had to get from the registrar, since it is needed to get into mySGU initially, and to "update" my information to view mediasite recordings.

yeah that other ID # was just my social security # (at least in my case it was) and then we were required to change the password

I need the student number to apply to student loan, so i guess i need the student number from the registrar, not the random student number right? (btw where do I find the random student number in MySGU?) Thanks guys

oh sorry I wasn't very specific...it's on your lower right, click and all will be revealed!!

And since you're asking about the ID needed to apply for your loan, call your fin aid counselor, they give you a specific ID number that isn't any of the others that were previously mentioned (I'm assuming you're asking about applying for the loan on the SGU site).

For what it's worth, on the paper they send home with grades (transcript?), they use the RandomID on there.

That probably might make more sense than putting the SS-replacement number, but I'd check with the school anyway.

Look in the bottom right - red writing "Random ID for [your name]. Underneath that is "Click here to see it." Click the link and your ID will show up.

I don't think we got our random ID numbers until just after registration, though it might have been just before registration when all other info was in order (financials, health records/titers and whatever else they needed)

Anyone know the answer to the following question? I am applying to OSAP:
1. What is the end date of my 2008-2009 period of study? The starting date is Aug 18, 2008? (I am not sure if i should include Term 3 or not...)
2. What is the number of years in the Doctor of Medicine program? I am told that it's 5 academic years in 4 calendar years, so should I answer 4 or 5 years to this question?
Thanks!

For loans and financial aid purposes, it is 5 academic years, so use that.

1st year - Terms 1 and 2
2nd year - Terms 3, 4, and 5
3rd year - Terms 6 and 7
4th year - Terms 8 and 9
5th year - Terms 10 and 11

This is also explained in mySGU - direct link here https://qp1.sgu.edu/quickplace/finaid2/PageLibrary852570A9003D12CB.nsf/h_Index/01A4213FA45BDEEB85257134006FE88E/?OpenDocument

Thank you so much! Are you familiar with OSAP? How can I apply 5 times of OSAP in 4 calendar years? Thanks!
