Windsor does not require Step 1 for graduation. The admissions office told me Step 1 is required for rotations done in the U.S., but I don't think that is correct, except for green rotations, which generally require it.
If I'm willing to go all non-green (oberserverships, etc.), will the school allow me to do them in the states without Step 1? Will the school arrange those rotations, or am I on my own?

its hospital dependant..most hospitals require it. all the us med schools also require it..they will allow students to start rotations having taken step 1 but they are pulled from that rotation if they fail.
why oh why on the world would you want to do observerships? they don'tr count for rotations as clinical clerkships? you can set up your own observerships without a school...heck you can hang out in the ER waiting room and call it an observership because thats all its worth

I don't mean rotations officially denoted as observerships. I mean de facto observerships, as when rotation preceptors are so busy they never get around to giving you anything to do, and merely sign off on the paperwork when the time is up. I get reports of these situations all the time from classmates who are in rotations now.
