AMCAS GPA Calculation

Hi, I was just very curious about retaking my ochem series because I got straight C's on them. But what I was wondering was will the AMCAS application take my new grades I recieve for ochem in calculating my AMCAS GPA? If it was I was planning to retake it even though my undergraduate college (UCI) won't just specifically for the AMCAS application. Thanks for any responses.

I believe the new grade is averaged for AMCAS, not 100% sure though. For D.O applications the new grade is replaced. I beleive that is the case for Caribbean/European schools as well.

Just a thought: if you just recieved C's in OChem you may just want to focus your time/energy on doing well on the MCAT instead of repeating the class. At least that is what I am doing.

Thats what I was was considering but wouldn't it raise my gpa tremendously even if I get B's the enxt time aroud this is on a quarter system by the way.
