hello, does anyone know how much time saba univ. allows a student to take to study for step 1? is it true that after graduating from basic science, students are forced to take the step within a certain amount of time...like 3 months? What is the maximum time one CAN take to study for step1?

I think 3 months is the time the school expects you to take it in. Honestly if you are studying for more than 3 months and you dont know what you need to know....then you have more pressing issues than how much time you want. You are also "supposed" to be doing kaplan for an entire semester (Fifth semester) before your own study time so it should be well ingrained in your head, in my opinion Saba does a great job of step 1 preparation i just wished they had some sort of program for step 2....

Saba wants you to take the step in a three month frame because the ECFMG gives you three month windows to take the step 1 exam, ie your permit for step 1 is only for three months.
You can always extend your permit for a fee through ECFMG, and that is why Saba gives you up to a year to take the step. I believe if you don't take the step in a one year time frame they place you on academic probation, however, I am not sure about, and a quick glance through my clinical handbook didn't give me an answer.
So, it's not Saba being mean and making students take step in three months or less, they are just abiding my ECFMGs policy of only giving three month permits!
ha ha, step 2 prep.....I thought that was supposed to be the big bad world of clinicals, saad? :)

you apparently havent set foot in nor completed a "clinical rotation"....enjoy the self study. This is the reason why i attack every herb that cries about hard exams and "bad profs." Wait til bad profs become no profs and u get scutted all day = self learning is the only learning herbs.
