I am scheduled for a phone interview tonight with the dean of AUC. Any advice or words of encouragement. I am somewhat nervous, but I did have two face to face interviews for US schools earlier in the year. Did not get accepted but encouraged to re-apply for next year. I hope to do well tonight.

good luck......not many people on here have experience with auc interviews since they dont do it very often

When I did my phone interview for AUC it was about as informal as I could ever have imagined. We talked about how I became interested in medicine, what I've done over the years to prepare me for this career, and any red flags on my records.

Honestly, though, we spent a good deal of time talking about my family and the realities of medical school abroad; the entire thing is very laid back. Convey your excitation and genuine desire to succeed in medicine, and you'll be fine.

I had a phone interview a few weeks ago with a Dr L. Is was a little nerve racking but I got in and I thought I bomned it so don't worry. Do a google search for "medical school interview questions". He only asked me 4 questions and they were all on that list. Have a little something thought out about each so you don't ramble on. And when you stop speaking and hear only silence don't worry he is writing and your interview is not going to hell.

People have probably said this but be yourself, be sincere about why you want to go into medicine, be ready to talk about your shortcomings (no one is perfect), know why (as passionate as you can) you want to go to auc.

Interview seemed to go well. Lasted 30 min or so and like most said be yourself. Asked if I could move to the island and not know any one. I moved 7 hrs from home and attended a university with 35,000 students and did not know anyone for undergraduate. More intersted in my life and homeschooling than anything. Did ask if I was interested in Sept 08 or Jan 09.
