I completed 60 credits in college here in the US. I want to apply to Pre-Med in SGU for January. What are the requirements for applying?

I heard that if you don't have atleast 90 credits or a Bachelors degree from college, you'd have problems later on when it comes to licensure in the US, so if I do pre-med in SGU, would that still be a problem for me later on? or is completing Pre-Med studies in SGU equivalent to a Bachelors from the US?

Do I need letters of recommendation too?

I'm sorry, I just realized I posted the same thing twice. The first time I did it, nothing showed up. So I put it again, but now I see 2 threads.

I'm sorry, can one thread be closed please?

To apply for the premed program, you require a decent gpa depending on the year you apply (ie year 3 will be more then 20). However the gpa requirement is NOT as high as it would be if you were applying into the MD program.
For the MD program you do need a bachelors degree. I know there are other schools out there including SABA and Ross for which you only need 90, but SGU requires a full degree. Which is why the premed route is a nice alternative for getting into SGU as you can slide in with out the bachelors, but in the end you will have at least 90 credits or above preventing lisensure issues.

As for bachelors equivalency, from what I have heard, and I could be wrong, you can not transfer credits from the undergrad program to an undergrad program in the US or Canada.

K onto the application process,

You will need two letters of recommendation, basically your app will be the same as the MD entrants minus the MCAT score. And you will be interviewed in the same manner and MD applicant is.

Hope that helps

theres a Premed thread started if you are looking for more information in the Premed Section

if the credits you have already completed are the ones they do in the first year, then you can start in the second year
