ok so I am double majoring in biology and history (so far). i have completed all but 5 bio classes and I could get my bio degree in may of 09. my gpa till now (july 19 08) is 2.889. Im taking the mCAT in jan and im expecting around a 26-30. should i go through with the double major (adds an entire year to undergrad) or go ahead and apply to SGU in may ? (i have shadowing experience, research experience, volunteering experience and I work at a hospital for 3 years)

when u say "apply to sgu in may" do you mean to apply in may 09 for Aug 09? because this year the Aug 08 class was full by the end of april.
your gpa is on the low side. i don't think a double major helps you in terms of applications. just stick with Bio and if you need to bring your gpa up even more, then take extra upper level science classes.
