Hi guys,
IF you are married are you given more financial aid? Does this extra financial aid come from Gradplus loan as well? How do they do it? Would they just increase your Grad PLus Allowance from 30,000 a year to lets say 40,000?? Or is a completely different loan you apply for?

Ask your financial aid counselor for a "dependent care form." Fill it out, send it back and they will get back to you on how much more you can receive. It will be added on your Grad Plus loans.

I'm pretty sure fiances are covered but not positive. Best to ask your counselor.
It seems like the range is around $4,000 to $9,000 extra for the entire loan year. The more dependents, the more money. Keep in mind this is for the entire school year, not just 1 term.

I had to provide a marriage certificate and my son's birth certificate. Konga's range has been accurate for us as well. It depends on # of dependents and your previous year's income.

Very true. A married student in my class with 3 kids did not receive any dependent care funds since their previous year's income was too high.

I did not know this. I will have to check this out since my husband does not live in GND with me but comes at least once a term to visit---this will help with plane tickets.

Crispy - you do have to verify the following on the dependent care form:
"I am providing the following documentation as proof that I am the sole / 50% supporter of my family." If your hubby is earning money, then you may not receive anything, but no harm trying.
