Dear all,

I am very happy I found this site and I really hope someone can answer my question.

I am a Norwegian student (in 4th medical year in a 6 year program), studying in Dublin, Ireland.

Unfortunately I have failed (due to some personal issues) this repeating year (failed the the 4th year twice) so I am being discontinued from my college.

- What I am wondering about is my opportunity to transfer to any Hungarian university?

- Is it possible to transfer to a Polish University and start in the 4th year again?

I will really appreciated if someone can give me some advice for this issue.

I am not sure of this matters but my grades from high school is extremely hight, much higher than the requirements I read (however requirements for entry for the 1st year)

In advance much thanks to anyone that can give any advice

Kindest regards

First, check all the posts and discussions of this forum about your choice because Hungary has a traditional system of teaching and examination (mostly oral exams) in the upper years and sometimes students have trouble with it. Second, If you don't know any Hungarian at all (my guess) it would be hard to get into 4th year because you have to be able to communicate to some extent by then. I know a lot of 4th year students that still don't speak a whole sentence in Hungarian but that is not the right way to go, and maybe the admissions office will tell you to study in a lower year because of the language skills.

you should contact the admission office of each university soon because the application deadlines of Hungarian universities are long over, so you should not waste any more time if you really want to transfer. don't send emails because sometimes they take up to a week to reply (sometimes, not always) and since you don't have much time to lose sending emails back and forth is not a good idea. call them. check the websites you can find the numbers there.

After you narrowed the choices to 2-3 go and check the schools and cities in person it won't cost much since you can travel with a budget airline like wizzair from anywhere in Europe, you can submit your documents to the university in person when you visit the cities. it is not a good idea to do the whole thing blindfolded and then be unpleasantly surprised.
make a fast but wise choice.

Good Luck!
