This has been something I've been wondering for a while, but it was difficult finding the answer I was looking for. I was trying to figure out the condition of the clinical situation of AUC. From what I can tell, there's been practically 0 complaints about there being any shortage of clinical spots. I also haven't seen any threads complaining about having to do all the work to schedule your rotations. From this, it seemed everything was peachy. I've seen the list of hospital affiliations, but that doesn't say much about how many clinical slots there are exactly. Does the school have a surplus of slots relative to the number of students, so that people won't get shafted at all for rotations? Just something I'd like some more specifics on. Also, this is in relation to the current (and possibly future) clinical situation.

There are more sites in the works as of now. There is only shortage in Peds as far as I know which should clear up with addition of NUMC

Do you know which sites?
Also, can anyone either currently in clinicals or has completed them share their experience with how the administration handled it?

There are sites they are already affiliated with, but I don't see where they list sites that are in the works.

the ones in the works are not listed on the website...nothing is set in stone until contracts are in hand.....

I've heard a number of mixed reviews about setting up clinicals, but from my most recent experience, I personally did not have any problems with the office. I received my Step 1 score on a Wednesday, e-mailed them my score report, and was set up by Thursday late afternoon. I finished on the island in April, and just started my first rotation this past Monday. I think part of it depends on the volume of students reporting scores -- I took my test early, about 4 weeks after I finished my 5th semester, and the office didn't seem to be as busy then. So (knock on wood), I didn't have any problems. But like I said before, every student's experience is different, so you can always ask around.

I think students are required to schedule their own electives at AUC. SGU books them for you. I think Ross looks after electives as well.
Personally I wouldn't want to take the time to book electives on my own.

yea it absolutely sucks..you have to like fill out two forms and turn them in...and the worse part is that you have to look at your schedule and see when you want to take time off to vacation before you turn the forms in...it was so time consuming and horrid that it took me 5 minutes to schedule all my electives...oh and then i had the idea that i would want to do a few electives away and here it went again...i had to fill out two forms and...wait for it...turn them in...the torture left me scrarred for life
all joking aside. its not difficult to set up electives. i think each system has its ups...sgu is really idiot proof and they literally will wipe the seat after they change your diapers for you...hehe setting up your rotations does take some time figuring out what rotations you want, when you want some vacation time, etc but people were able to set up some very interesting rotations as electiives like space medicine at nasa or at abc news doing medical reporting. most importantly though setting them upi yourself leaves you to set up the easiest rotations at the end of your 4th year so you can let senioritis kick in full force

+1 from SGU cheerleaders today.
I'm guessing the extra time you have from having your electives booked for you is being put to good use today. :bored::bored::bored:
