you don't have to know spanish when you first start off here, especially in pre-med.
You will be required to take 5 spanish language classes as part of your pre-med curriculum and you will have the natives to help you practice your conversational spanish.
most people pick it up the basics in first semester.
the classes are taught in english but you will be required to understand and speak it fluently when you enter into your clinicals because those are only in spanish.

I'm considering going to UNIBE. I'm of cuban descent, and can speak some Spanish, however I can't write it or read it well. I'm finished with all my premed reqs. Would I be required to take Spanish classes at UNIBE? If so, is this doable while going to med school? Thanks.

you are required to complete 5 spanish classes before going into clinicals unless you pass a test to exempt you from the first 4 classes. in that case, you will only be required to take the last spanish class which is a medical terminology class.
you should contact the school about more information about when that test is given. since you know some spanish, they might exempt you from maybe one or more of the classes.

hope that helps
