i need help from anyone at TMU

hello ,

my x visa is going to get canceled if i don't enter china before 26-7-08 , i was planing on going to china at the 18th , but i just called miss xue and she told me that their summer vacation will start on 12-7-08 and if i come to china i'll be "illegal" since thier will be no one to process my residence permit .... but the problem is that am visiting my family in the UAE and for me the get a new visa means that i must go back to the chinese embassy in cairo-egypt(this is what the chinese embassador in Abudhabi have told me) . .

so what can i do , do i have to go back to egypt because the chinese embassy there issued me a visa tha's valid for one month only instead of 3 ???????? can't they have any one to stay & process my permit instead of me going into all of this trouble ???????

i am not an immigration lawyer or anything so take my advice with a grain of salt...
1.where are you right now?
2.if you are currently not in china, go to the chinese embassy or consulate in the country you are now to get an extension of your visa
3. most countries permit you to renew you visa so long as you are not in the country you are seeking the visa, eg you cannot renew a US visa in the US but you can renew it at the US embassy in canada or mexico......maybe china has similar laws so double check.

1- now am in the united arab emirates
2-i talked to the chines embassy in abudhabi and the the cosulate general in dubai and both told me that i cannot renew my visa from the uae since it was issued from egypt in the first place ( and i don't know why !)
3-i think this works only for people on z visas(work visa) and not on students with an x visa ..

if the consulate says you must get it from egypt then it seems you have no choice but to make the trip to egypt to renew it, is it possible to mail your passport to egypt to get it renewed without you traveling there?

I advise u to go back to egypt and get ur visa renewed, if u can do it by courier that wud obviously be more convenient.
If u arrive early, since its vacation time, no one will b around to help u and they wont go thru the trouble of making someone stay jst for one student.
You shud explain thise to the embassy [that u are supposed to receive a 3 month visa] and that there is no point goin to china wen the university is on vacation and it wud not b possible to convert ur visa into a residency permit.
