I have been looking around for the best option to ship some stuff from VA to AUC. The only one that looks good was the Tropical Shipping as I can go and drop off stuff in NJ. I would apprecaite if anyone can share if there is a better and cheaper way to send stuff to AUC. I did try searching for shipping in the forums but could not find anything helpful. There are bunch of shipping sites in Miami FL but it comes down to be more expensive than Troical as I need to mail stuff to them.

Stick it in a suitcase and take it with you. $50 for 100lbs isn't bad at all.

Don't forget 4 Star Cargo, they are usually cheap if you use the boat option. You get the stuff to miami and they take it from there. If its a lot of suitcases, consider ups frieght or something cheap to get it to miami. Im not sure how tropical shippings rates differ from 4 Star Cargo, but you can check it out.

4 star cargo is awesome..... incredibly good deal if you go ocean route and you get your stuff within ~1 week of it reaching miami usually. If it arrives by thursday the boat comes in the next tuesday, I believe. I shipped a ton of crap that I could have bought here, but still wasn't that much through 4star. You do have to pick up your boxes from their office which is right next to the airport though....very close and easy to get to.

I know someone who sent books from his academic institution to AUC via the post office at the University Station. Although I have not done it myself, I was told there is an "academic rate" to ship books. Just another idea. He did carry many heavy boxes from notes services, that is for sure.

Do you know approximately how much 4 star cargo charges per pound, I Looked on their website and could really figure out how to read their rate chart.

If its a lot of luggage, look into taking a cruise... Carnival allows you to depart in SXM if you let them know ahead of time, also there is no limit on the luggage you can bring
