First of all, there is no "typical" day. You are given a weekly schedule, usually the Thursday night before the week begins. The week will be either Case Study, which is basically time off, Clinicals, where you will be assigned a certain rotation, BTLS (basic trauma life support) training, ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) training, or CHS (center for Haitian studies) which is basically PBL in the ghetto. Every week, regardless of your assignment, you will have large group lectures, usually on Wednesdays from 9am to about 4 or 5pm. You will also have small groups once a week for two hours, time and day vary each week. Small group is a lot like PBL but with 40 or so students.
Your clinical assignment will be for you and your clinical partner. The two of you will be sent to either an office, hospital or urgent care clinic to do a rotation in a specific specialty. Depeding on who and what you get it can be awesome or a total waste of time.
Case study is when you don't have anything extra scheduled, usually. Don't be surprised, though, if they give you a Harvey day or re-schedule something that was missed during that week.
ACLS and BTLS training involve 1-2 half-days (each) and one full day (each).
If you want, you can sign up for UMBR (Univ of Miami Board Review), which meets two nights during the week from 6-10 and either Saturday or Sunday from 9-5. If you sign up, you have to attend all sessions. They do take roll.
If you really need a day off, you have to request it ahead of time, but don't expect it to come easily. They do understand that a lot of people have weddings and such, but you have to request it off.
5th semester is what you make it. Hope this helps.

You can take the train anywhere in the city: 7000 building to Hyatt. You do need a car for clinicals which can be anywhere from 5 mins to 50 mins away from where you live. So a car would be a necessity.

Yeah, you need a car, or else live with someone who has a car. Clinicals can be anywhere.
