I'm currently going to medical school in Tel Aviv through an American program.
Does anyone have information about doing electives, a year of internship, or a residency in Australia if you are not from an Australia program?
Thanks.

Let me add...if I do decide to do my residency in the U.S. how difficult would it be for me to work in Australia afterwards?
Do I need to take additional exams to be recognized as a physician or would they accept my U.S. credentials?

ur post caught my attention because I also want to do the same as u and go to Australia. I am in an english progam in Hungary. I know of some ppl who did their clerkships there and also moved there after to practice. However they studied in Germany. I know its possible for clerkships (check with University of New South Wales in Sydney). The person that moved to Aussie after completing his medical studies had to do an examination to practice there. If u want to practice in Austrlia u must apply through the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and make an examination to see if ur qualifications are equal to those in Australia. Go to the webpage of australia-migration for practitioners.
Also see the official site for the AMC it will give u all the info u need!
Hope it helps!!!
