Yup, They have a FM rotation through Grant Hospital (level 1 trauma center) and Grant Family Practice. I am just finishing my rotation and it was great, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
A basic overview - the program is meant to be a Sub I program (meant to be done on your 4th year to really prepare you for a career in FM) so it is a little intense. In addition the program is one of only a handful, "unopposed" programs - this means that you don't have to hand off your patients that get admitted to other departments - you work them all the way through. Your time is 6 weeks and consists of 3 weeks inpatient - essentially working as an IM. You round at like 6 am, present to your attending, attend daily case rounds, then work with your patients till you are off (generally 6pm). You work a couple of on call shifts to get the hang of it, and you are treated very kindly. Every wed morning is didactics till 12. The second 3 weeks is dedicated to ambulatory medicine with rotations at in a newborn nursery, delivery ward, 2 different family medicine offices, an OB clinic, and some work with palliative care. Over all I am really enjoying the rotation, and have a new appreciation for all that FM can be. The work is VIGOROUS, definetly not what most people think of when they think of FM, more like IM - but totally cool.
Guess thats it, back to work
