Hey, I'm interested in staying at Treasure Island come Sept 2008. Would appreciate any feedback from current residents :)

I live there. It's a good place to live. I enjoy living by myself so it's worth it to pay a little extra. It's just a hotel room. you can see it at frontdoorcayman.com

Thnx for responding :)

yeah I enjoy living by myself as well and all the utilities included...i thought it looked like a great deal! how long have you been living there? because I see that the longer you intend to live there, the cheaper it is.

Also, how do you get to and from school?

I've been living there the whole time. I'm in 3rd semester now. Getting to school is easy. The buses run right out front every 5 to 10 minutes. $2CI each way (cheaper than having a car). Or fellow students will pick you up. Or you can hitch-hike.

If you like to live a lone it's a great place. Don't listen to the naysayers around here. I've been here for 3 semesters and will stay for the 4th. If you don't mind room mates, renting a house/condo is the way to go.

Yeah I can't do "the roomates"...i just went through the link provided from azulpanther...wow, there's a lot that they said though....since u're presently living there...have u had any problems? the cold water? limited internet connectivity? noise level?

They recently upgraded the internet so it's faster and doesn't shut off as often. It will shut off for a couple hours a couple times a week. No biggie tho. The TV selection is good. Network channels out of NYC, 4 HBO channels, ESPN, ESPN2, comedy, Discovery, about 50 channels in all. Noise can vary depending on where in the complex u live. I live on the 4th floor overlooking the pool so I get some noise from there sometimes but not usually after 10pm. When it gets raucous at the bar in the lobby it might last until 11 or 12. Still not too bad. Water pipes have broken a couple times but they are prompt in getting them fixed. I have been impressed with the maintenance crew. They come the next day when you submit a non-emergent request. Cleanliness of the grounds is great too. There is always someone mopping the hallways and lobby. Pool is always clean. It has surpassed my expectations so far, then again I lived in a fraternity house for 3 years so my expectations aren't that high. I'm not too picky. haha

All i'm saying is that there are two sides to every story. There are a few people who have certain upsets with TI and use this forum to vent their spleen.
All you have to do is go to TI check it out and see the rooms and if it seems like your cup of tea move in. It's not forever. If however you find it's not to your taste you can always move out as with any place of residence on the island.

exactlyyy so the let the other side be heard if its all "good", and also "few people" arent just few ppl they were St.matthew students, if it happens to them it can happen to any of us, so we should all know the pro and cons before we move in, cause we all are from different states and we need to trust were we're going if it is trustworthy that will replace our home, but with few of those ppl we know how "honest TI is " cause they spoke out and if u want ppl to stop hearing that side of the story u guys can fix it by apologizing atleast and dont do it others, otherwise it will never be forgotten and will be shared among other potential SMU students that are looking for advice of where to live..

i don't work for TI in anyway what so ever. But I do live here and am very open to anyone asking any questions. I can only comment on my situation which I may add am very happy with and maybe a couple of the horror stories people have been bashing around.
