I am an FMG with a B1 visa. I applied for a PTAL and received a letter from the Medical Board of California that I have fulfilled all of the requirements for a PTAL except for providing a Social Security Number.

My questions:

- How can I get SSN with a B1 visa?
- Should I ask for a letter from Social Security stating that I am ineligible for a SSN, and send that letter to the Medical Board of CA?
- How can I apply for programs in CA without the PTAL?

I appreciate every advice.
