Does anyone have any idea how long it takes for mail we send from Saba to reach home (i.e: Canada)?

Thanks

Doc :D

Coming the other way (i.e. from Canada) it seems to take around six weeks for a letter to arrive. I've noticed some variablity around that figure with things from Europe arriving in as little as ten days, and other things from the US taking more like two months.

I've gotten things here from the US via ICS in as little as two and a half weeks, but that varies as well. Once here, you can mail things via the Post Office, which seems to take a little longer going out than coming in, or you can send things out via a UPS mail pouch that ICS has been sending on Fridays. They just started this last month, so I can't give you exact times or cost, but they charge you a separate fee to put your US stamped letter or package in the UPS bag which gets sent to Florida. Once there, your mail gets put into the US Postal Service. In terms of cost and speed, this might be the best way to mail small things out. If it absolutey, positively has to get there quickly, there are agents for DHL, FedEx and UPS on the island that can get your letter home in about three days for around US$45 (about the same coming this way as well).

I say all this with a word of caution, because I have seen and heard of many other experiences. The most common snafu seems to be someone shipping via FedEx whose package gets sent to the Netherlands - not Netherlands Antilles - and it takes about two weeks to get it turned around and back down here. Not a bad idea to add "Dutch West Indies" when you address your packages to 'Saba, Netherlands Antilles".

Anyhow, that's my take on the mail thing.

Best of Luck!
