For those who don't know wat an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) is, it's a small 4 wheeled motorized vehicle commonly used for offroad driving. A lot of people like using it to get around in general though. I was wondering:

1. Does anyone know if it is legal to drive ATVs in the street in Grenada?
2. If so do you need a certain type of license to drive one?
3. Are they common enough that it will be easy to find a used one for sale?
4. Are they available for rent?

I ran a search and couldn't find anything. Although ATV is too short to be a search term i searched for vehicle and went thru every post I thought might be relevant.

On the islands in Greece this is a really common way for people, especially tourists, to get around. ATVs are really fuel efficient and in my opinion a lot easier to ride than motorcycles which is why I'm interested in the first place. Any information is greatly appreciated.

My old landlord in Grenada has at least one that he rents out. You can email him about any vehicle or apartment rentals: charlesrawle @ gmail.com (charlesrawle@gmail.com) (no spaces)

You'd be taking your life into your own hands if you did that. You're better off carpooling with another student or riding the school buses and/or city buses.

The bus service in Grenada is very good. I can't imagine why you'd want to go anywhere other than where a bus can take you, at least during your first term at SGU. I would rent/buy/share a car rather than an ATV on those streets. Ultimately, the choice is yours.

tho it is probably very cool and fun to drive an atv, your life is at risk for driving one in gnd. keep in mind the very bare hospital of gnd and the lack of an efficient EMS system

My heart skips a beat when I think about riding an ATV full speed along the dusty highway. Up over the big hill and into the back way to LAE.

ohh come on driving in gnd isn't that bad at all. it's actually a lot of fun, there are very few cops so you can do whatever you want, pass people speed or go as slow as you want. the roads are fine as well. You can drive whatever you want in gnd as long as it runs. you can probably even drive a tank down there, no one cares, there are no emission laws or anyother laws about head lights, tail lights.. Don't be scared if you want to rent one and ride one do it. I know plenty of people who had motorcycles or mopeds and they were fine, as long as you're observant and can drive fairly well you'll be alright.
