I just wanted to know if SMU provides laptops to first year students? If not, are they sold at a discounted price? Thanks in advance.

I think you have to bring your own laptop

There are some US schools that give laptops. One example is FSU med, which did (or still does) give them to their first year students.

A lot of proprietary schools give laptops mto justify their inflated tuition and to rig them with features/ software necessary for some of their intereactive coursework.

I never received one either, but if it's paid with a voucher, then you're paying for it with an extra couple grand on your bill. You're better off going to Best Buy and buying a nice one for cheaper.
