Dude I think you are better off finding something in the bargain bin at Surfride, use it for the rest of the summer, then ship it to Dominica knowing that you will not be shipping it back. This way you actually know the quality and condition of the board. You can also get it dialed in the way you want it. Plus you can get used to riding crap waves say in South Mission which is probably all we will get on the rock.

got lots of beef jerky I shipped here in May. I don't think I'll be using it.

I know there are surfboards down in Dominica because I sold 5 while I was there. There are waves, and they get pretty good occasionally, but you have to be patient. I'd recommend getting a retro fish or a retro egg style. I had both and had a blast. I also had a Channel Islands Flyer II while I was down there, and when the surf was big enough to push it, that board was the shit! You just have to be willing to drive to the east coast of Dominica to get waves more often. I used wetsand.com for my surf reports, and it hardly ever let me down. Honestly, it saved me from losing my mind.
