hi im in a medical institute where the exam system is not that competitive( pretty easy ) and mostly i am able to score good marks by reading review books of the subject i am preparing for along with Kaplan notes. and while others prefer reading snell or moore for anatomy or big books for any subject i managed with high yield anatomy along with kaplan notes and instead i find them a better approach to learning and since im not getting any support from my teachers on either subject related to questions or theory they mostly give away the lecture not concerned with wether anyone understood or not
even with physiology im reading brs phyio and kaplan notes for preparation for exams and this approach makes me feel confident that when im nearing givin usmle i hav already read all the review books and even first aid
MY QUESTION IS THAT IS THIS A BETTER APPROACH TO BECOMING A GOOD DOCTOR AND GETTING GOOD SCORE IN STEP 1 BY ONLY KEEPING REVIEW BOOKS AND KAPLAN AS MY STUDY RESOURCE RATHER THAN READING ALL BIG BOOKS LIKE SNELL .. GUYTON

ALL I DO IS READ THE REVIEW BOOKS READ THROUGH KAPLAN ADDING INFORMATION INTO THE REVIEW BOOKS AND THEN ADDING IT TO FIRST AID ALL ALONG THE STUDY COURSE SINCE THE EXAMS RNT THT TOUGH SO I CAN MANAGE THIS WAY AND HELPS ME READ THE BOOKS AGAIN AND SINCE THE REVIEW BOOKS ARE TO THE POINT I CAN REMEMBER THEM EASILY
YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED
THANK U

I think the question about being a good Dr is a hard one to answer, because there are so many factors involve in becoming a good Dr. I dont think it's jz base on know knoweledge alone or board scores, i think it must be incompass so much of humanity aspect into it. What i think do well in USMLE would do for you are to get in you in a good residency program and allow you to choose what u want to do. These things would help you be on your way to be a license Dr, but you have to look into yourself to see if you are willing to bring the other aspect of the healing arts in your practice. Good luck.
