I heard rumors that the library has wireless internet? Is that true? Is the only internet connection available on the island through the phone line?

I hear the library has a satellite connection for their computers... your not allowed to plug in your laptops. No wireless. You can can get dial-up connection most places on the island for a nice fee.

What you have heard is correct Ferrarijp! Dial-up connection off-campus will cost you a monthly fee, a connection fee per call, and a per-minute charge.

So there's no reason for anyone to bring a router with my labtop? I heard the line-up for the computers is long, is it true?

Does the library computers have USB slots so i could use my USB key when the need arises?

There can be a wait for the library computers, depending on the time of day. The staff is pretty good about limiting time to 30 minutes per user so everyone can get on. DO bring your USB. You can use it on the library computers AND the classroom computer.

There is an internet system you can hook your laptop to in the library, but it has been disconnected. I have heard different stories why, but I suspect it was mostly because people were using so much bandwidth to download music and video that they brought everytnig to a grinding halt. I don't expect to see it re-connected.
