does anyone know if UMHS is making any plan for canadian students to be able to receive student loans. Thanks
There are several options for Canadian students who are accepted at UMHS.
Canadian students may apply for loans through their provincial Ministry of Training. The Canadian government provides loan information and access to the National Student Loan Center through their Can Learn web site at www.canlearn.ca (http://www.canlearn.ca/). UMHS does not qualify for the provincial loan in certain provinces, such as Ontario. Please contact the UMHS financial aid department or the above website for further details.
To supplement provincial loans, UMHS has coordinated credit based loans with other banks.. Each program offers specific terms and conditions as well as pre-set limits, so again, we would recommend that accepted student discuss these loans with the finacial aid department in NY.
With any questions about financial aid, whether it be Canadian or American, you will always get the most accurate information from one of our financial aid officers.

I think now a school has to be in existence for 10 years before the Canada student loan can be considered?

Note that schools like Saba, Ross, for example, cant get the provincial loans -- only the federal portion.
You may have to get your loans from the private banks, but watch for the interest charged. It may hurt you now that the international credit problems intensify.
