I'm interested in attending Sint Eustatius for sept 2008 and was wondering if my girlfriend whom has a criminal record will be allowed on the island. We have two kids together and i would like them to be there with me. It's not a serious record, just public mischief, and it was about 3 years ago. I don't know if immigration will overlook it or not. I do not have a record so i would be ok but as to Immigration for her and getting a police record of good conduct for her. I don't know if this may be a problem? Anyone with insight on this topic, feel free to respond. Thank You.

The govt of Statia is VERY strict regarding this type of issue. They require a CLEAN background for I believe its a 4 year previous span. I have an email from the governer or the president or whatever title he has stating this exact issue, however if her record is now CLEAN where it wont show up on a background test, then she will be fine. The govt of Statia want an actual in depth background history check, some islands just require a affidavit stating that you have no pending warrants and wont require an actual background, so she can slide through that one. PM me and il forward you the email I received from their govt official.

She has not been in trouble for three years now, however another year and she is able to apply for a pardon. I do believe that an in depth check will show her record but a certificate of good standing may not. I wanted to contact the immigration department of the Netherlands but can't seem to find the correct contact number. I'll keep searching for a solution to this problem.
