I have been researching medical boards from various states too make sure I can practice there with a degree from AUC (and so far everyone has respond with a yes or I have determined from the stated requirements that AUC is accepted). However my question is I keep seeing this fifth pathway statement and I dont know what it is. Does anyone know what fifth pathway is?

The 5th pathway doesn't apply to AUC, or other caribbean schools. It's a program that is in New York, Puerto Rico, and maybe somewhere else, not sure. Basically it is a one year program done after medical school to make sure you are up to date in your clinical training. I know the school in Mexico, UAG has it for the american students who graduate from there and want to practice in the US. Go to www.fifthpathway.com if you want more info.

is for any school in mexico that you go to. in mexico you are required to do a year of rural medicine. fifth pathway allows you to do that year in the US as apposed to mexico that is all it is and does not apply to carib schools.
